A recognition with excavation tests and hypothesis on the round tower of Punic-Roman origin, in collaboration between the Superintendence of Malta and archaeologists from the University of Calabria.
La Valletta, October 4, 2024 — The Italian-Maltese archaeological mission in the round tower of Ta’ Wilġa (Malta), tower of probable Punic-Roman origin, will have a moment of investigation and excavation from 6 to 11 November 2024, in collaboration between the University of Calabria and the Superintendence of Cultural and Architectural Heritage of Malta.

On Medium (via Ondaiblea.it) the story of the preliminary meeting, at the Superintendence for Cultural and Architectural Heritage of Malta, between the Superintendent of Malta, Dr. Kurt Farrugia (in collaboration with Dr. Kevin Borda) with the director of the mission, professor Giovanni Distefano and professor Maurizio Paoletti (University of Calabria, in collaboration with architect Domenico Buzzone and Dr. Salvo Micciché, who is also a documentary filmmaker and photographer of the mission).
